Teacher/Choreographer
Selina received her early pre-professional ballet training from Mainland Chinese teachers who expertise in the Vaganova method. She was later introduced to the British style of ballet technique and performance under the direction of Stephen Jefferies and subsequently the American style under John Meehan while she was a dancer with the Hong Kong Ballet. Selina's ballet class is a unique blend of her classical ballet background. Her class focuses on healthy alignment, dynamic imagery, core engagement, acute musicality and most importantly, pure classical technique. She carries an honest and strict, yet fun and approachable demeanor.
Selina is currently an adjunct ballet professor at Tisch school of the Arts, NYU, teaching beginner's to advanced level ballet technique to dance major and non-major dance students. She also coaches and choreographs for dancers to compete in major competitions in the US and Canada. Selina holds an BFA in Dance (First in Class Honours) from Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, an MFA from Tisch Dance, NYU, and is an ABT certified teacher to teach the National Training Curriculum from Pre-primary through Level 7, and Partnering.
